Getting started with the Basics of Reseller hosting.
Brixly is a hosting brand privately owned and operated in the UK. We now provide one of the UK’s fastest-growing hosting platforms designed for the reseller market. Depending on where you are around the world, you can access our services from anywhere. We have an extensive server infrastructure in the UK, Germany, the USA, and Singapore. Our unique stack offers unparalleled performance for your websites. Lovingly hosted on our in-house built NVMe cloud right here in the UK.
Getting started, after you have purchased one of our Reseller plans. You will be sent a Welcome e-mail that provides all the information about accessing your account, including your login details, domain and IP addresses.
What makes Brixly different?
As a company, innovation has been at the forefront of our growth strategy since its inception. Our focus has been, and always will be, to ensure we offer a platform exclusively built for resellers which are unique from those many providers available today. Reseller hosting isn’t tricky to come by – it’s a rapidly growing industry and has been spanning the last few years, so it’s absolutely essential we offer something unique.
Domains
A domain is vital to a website; one of the first things you need to get started is a domain name.
You can buy one from us; we offer some of the most competitive domain prices in the industry. If you have one already, you can either transfer it to us or just change your nameservers accordingly. Any reseller service paid annually will be eligible to get a free domain from us (selected TLDs).

Reselling Domains
Reselling domains has become incredibly popular in recent years. As a Brixly reseller, you resell domains through WHMCS, there are a few modules you can use to resell domains at your own set price. We recommend the domain registrars Resellerclub, Enom and nominet (for UK resellers).
Reseller Hosting Product Range
To be a successful Reseller, you first need to plan and analyse the market. This will help you decide what hosting requirements you need. At Brixly, we have various hosting plans to meet your needs, and in most cases, we exceed the requirements.
Check out our purchasing guide, ‘How to Purchase Reseller Hosting’.

We have the Reseller Entry plan and the Reseller Pro plan, depending on what you want; the Reseller entry plan is limited to just 20 cPanel accounts. If you require more accounts, you should go for the Reseller Pro account.

Email Hosting
Emails are essential to any business; with our cPanel Reseller plans, you can create email accounts with up to 10 GB per email account. The amount of emails you can have depends on the plan chosen.
Our Email Hosting is an ideal replacement for Microsoft Exchange or Google Mail, with a complete suite of collaboration tools to improve the efficiency of the day-to-day running of your business.

Brixly Workspace
Brixly Workspace is primarily an email hosting service, designed as an ideal alternative to the usual ‘per user’ or ‘per mailbox’ charging method that is applicable to most email hosting providers. Instead, we charge for an overall amount of storage included with the plan and a ‘maximum’ limit on the number of ‘accounts’ that can be created within the service.
Brixly Workspace has been designed as a ‘business collaboration suite’, complete with the following additional benefits (vs a standard ‘mail hosting’ solution)
Migrate your email accounts from any email provider using the simple Import facility.
Upsell Opportunities via Reseller Elite Module
Since our inception, our focus has been to provide an incomparable platform tailored explicitly for the reseller market. In doing so, we have moulded an outstanding platform to allow you to expand your reseller business beyond the capabilities of standard ‘reseller hosting’.
Traditionally, selling VPS servers, Reseller Hosting accounts or Dedicated Servers wasn’t possible without a significant amount of hardware, resource and expertise to back it. Now, this has changed with the introduction of our ‘Reseller Elite’ module, which is included with all reseller plans.
Pre-Requisites
- WHMCS will need to be installed/configured ready for the domain reseller module to be installed
- Domain name purchased come from your credit balance, so please ensure you have sufficient funds available in your Brixly account (Billing -> Add Funds)
- You must add a ‘Default Payment Method’ to your account. To do this, log in to our client area and click your name in the top right > click “Account Details” > go to “Billing address” section > change the “payment method” dropdown to your default payment gateway. (please note, this will not necessarily be the payment method for your domains, it is just a technical requirement for the module to work).

DNS Propagation
DNS propagation is the time it takes for DNS changes to be updated online. For example, you have purchased a domain name from another provider, but you want it to point to our UK premium servers. You need to change the nameservers on your domain to ns1.premium.hostns.io (109.70.148.4) and ns2.premium.hostns.io (109.70.148.5). The process is typically within the first hour but the process itself can take up to 72 hours.
A simple way to speed up DNS propagation:
- Define or modify an A record that points your hostname to the new destination IP address.
- Set a minimal TTL for that DNS record—we recommend 5 minutes. Below that, many ISPs might ignore the TTL and retain the old record in cache.
In most cases, the trick will only speed up the process, however we cannot guarantee how long your propagation will take.
You can use websites like https://www.whatsmydns.net/ or https://dnspropagation.net/ to check the progress on you propagation, even though
Migrating your Website

What to look out for in a Reseller Hosting plan
All Reseller Hosting plans aren’t created equal; therefore, there are several things to look out for when choosing a Reseller Hosting plan for your business.
- The Hosting Providers
Performance, reliability, and security can make or break any hosting company. When you’re a reselling hosting provider, you don’t have much control over any of these. The only control you have is your choice of hosting providers, and for you have to do your due diligence before committing. The hosting company you choose to partner with will own and maintain the server infrastructure. So, all three factors directly depend on them, which is why choosing the right hosting company is crucial. Good hosting companies will spend extra on better equipment, hire better expertise to maintain their servers, and use better tools to protect their servers. All these make a huge difference.
If your customers don’t find your hosting service reliable, fast, or secure, you can be sure that they won’t stick around for long. So, when choosing a hosting company, make sure that you partner with a company with a proven track record of offering excellent and reliable hosting services. It is always a good idea to check out client reviews for the company across the internet. You can use websites like Trustpilot, G2, Goodfirms and Google reviews.
- Quantity of resources
It’s essential to choose a plan that accurately reflects your business trajectory. When you’re starting, chances are, you’ll not have a lot of customers. So, ensure you don’t buy a plan with too many resources. Irrespective of whether you make a profit, you will have to pay the hosting company. So, ensure that you have a realistic outlook and choose a plan that caters to that.
- Control panel and billing applications
Look for a Reseller Hosting plan that offers a pre-integrated control panel for easy hosting management. Also, go for plans that offer free control panel accounts for your customers.
Moreover, as discussed in the first part of the blog, automated billing and management software is essential for the seamless administration of your hosting account. Find a Reseller Hosting account that offers applications such as WHMCS for free with the Reseller Hosting plan.
